West Auckland Whānau Prepared For Emergencies

Up to 120 frontline kaimahi helped West Auckland whānau get prepared for an emergency with new AA Grab and Go Packs and kai vouchers.

Over two weeks 300 whānau received a Grab And Go Kit after engaging with staff out on their mobile units across West Auckland.

Frontline lead, Kesi Tausinga said the response was massive.

"Whānau were really grateful because this was not a priority for them. These packs start at $119 and to have one in their whare made them much more aware and prepared. We added a kai voucher in there as a surprise which they appreciated. We sat with them and talked through different emergency plans for them, their families and what they could do in their whare. We also went back to the flood prone areas to help those new whānau who are high risk".
