Welcoming in the Matariki New Year

Te Whānau o Waipareira have held their annual Pure at Hoani Waititi Marae. Kaimahi were up bright and early for a 6:00AM start as they began the day with karakia, whakatau and wānanga. It was an insightful morning where kōrero focused on the story of the Matariki cluster and the difference between Pure and Hautapu.

Led by Pou Tikanga, Maria Pare Te Whiu and Jason Paahi, it was a beautiful time for us to reflect, remember those we have lost and look towards the future.
