Wahine Wellness Graduation Celebration

Congratulations to our kaimahi who have completed the Wāhine Wellness workshops that commenced in March this year.

Over the past three months, this group has been able to look at ways to enhance overall wellness and minimise stress with Kayla Gordine from Āwhina Wellness.

The special breakfast celebration was a chance for the group to reflect on the past three months. Kaimahi were also able to listen to inspiring kōrero from Mea Motu, the current IBO World Super Bantamweight Champion.

Mea encouraged our wāhine to continue to celebrate being strong, unapologetic women and to continue supporting each other.

“I want to show our people that we are great! And I use my title as a way to be a voice for our people and kids. I’m a very proud Māori and I’m very loud and proud to show people that. You’re the next generation that’s fighting - stand for what’s right and don’t let anyone take that away from you.”

For the past 30 years, Waipareira have provided free services and support for whānau of all ages in West Auckland – health, legal, housing and education.
