Indigenous Peoples Conference on HIV and Hepatitis Health Equity
Our Wai Puna Clinical Director, Dr Zarah Allport, recently attended the Indigenous Peoples Conference on HIV and Hepatitis Health Equity held in Meanjin (Brisbane) this month.
Alongside researchers from Whakauae, attendees were able to hear from international indigenous providers.
The theme of the conference was, Achieving Health Equity for First Nations Peoples in HIV and Hepatitis in an increasingly Inequitable World.
Despite significant efforts, indigenous groups around the globe, continue to face significant challenges in preventing, treating, and managing HIV and Hepatitis.
Our Wai Puna clinic currently run a Hepatitis C Screening Programme for whānau and are committed to reducing inequitable rates of HIV and Hepatitis for Māori.
