The Te Waka Ki Mua - Move It launch and blessing of the tohu saw over a hundred attend the 26 September event at Uenuku.

The new plan to improve the physical activity levels of Waitakere residents by encouraging more sport, recreation and active leisure was announced by Waipareira, and its partner Active Waitakere.

Following the launch, over 40 Waipareira staff and whanau gathered for the Workplace Challenge. Public Health team facilitators supported and encouraged staff to be more active in the workplace and offered one-on-one and group sessions about healthier choices and lifestyles including setting physical activity and nutritional goals.

Te Waka Ki Mua - Move It is supported by the Waitakere City Council, Waitemata District Health Board, Sport Waitakere, Waipareira, West Fono, Health West, YMCA, Unitec and others.
