6 February 2007: We'll have a bit of that Ferocious Mr Fixit attitude, thanks

looking1We've all heard it before (yawn) that each new year brings new challenges.  But what should we do about the old ones that keep coming back again and again?

Executive trustee John Tamihere says "we fix it."  This year's flagship Family Management Plan will place the Trust at odds with a number of agencies and personalities who may feel their patches are being encroached on.  But, he says, the Trust will be taking an assertive approach because - "our people come before those agencies."

While having an "ambulance at the bottom of the cliff" is sometimes necessary, says Tamihere, we want an approach that has the ambulance at the top of the cliff and we will get greater gains in health, social and educational outcomes.

The new plan aims for better access to the continuum of services offered by Te Whanau o Waipareira Trust, for families/whanau at the earliest possible point.
