Linda Lainchbury receives her award from
Waipareira's general manager Paul Stanley

In just seven years, Ngati Porou, Whakatohea archer Linda Lainchbury has achieved what no other NZ archer has.

She is NZ champion in three disciplines of archery; target, 3D animal and field archery.  So it is no surprise that she is the winner of the Te Whanau O Waipareira Trust Maori Achievement in Sport Award this year.

Linda also achieved Sportswoman of the Year at the 2007 Unitec Waitakere Sporting Excellence Awards and has achieved first in three recent competitions; the USA National Field Archery Association's National 3D championship, in the Australian International Field Archery Association's Nationals and the Pacific Regionals.

These results give her an overall world ranking of fourth and qualifies her to represent New Zealand at the 2008 World IFAA Championships where she aims to take gold!
